The Hollowed Man 2.0 窿人•異

Will God wake up one day and find out he’s been emptied of everything?

The oppressed are constantly being hollowed out. Freedom, living space, discourse right, dignity, right to free choice, emotional expression, desires, and even the breath - until nothing is left. Who has been draining us?

What can we rely on? The faith in God?

Isn’t it an act of hollowing out God, when people go against His will but claiming themselves as His disciples? How shall God resist?

No one is born to be The Hollowed Man, autonomy is our natural right. Let’s rip off our “Ego” shell layer by layer, gaze into the eyes of and eviscerate the devil from within, until spiritual liberation is embraced.

神會否有天醒來發現自己變得一無所有?

受壓迫者不斷被掏空。 自由、 生活的空間、話語的權利、尊嚴、選擇權、情緒表達、慾望、 以致呼吸 。直到一無所有。誰在掏空著我們?

我們有什麼可以倚靠?信靠神?

不行神意旨卻自認教徒的,不就是在掏空著神嗎?神會如何抗爭?

沒有誰天生就是 The Hollowed Man,自主是我們天生的權利。讓我們逐層逐層剝開「自我」的外殻,直面掏空內在的魔鬼,擁抱精神上的自由。

“Cavitation” and "Abundance" are not necessarily binary oppositions.
「掏空」與「盎然」不一定是二元對立。

Darkness: Mankind - the hollowed self remains in the empty shell, perfunctorily living in a vain and null world. Praying to God.
暗:人,被淘空的自己殘留在空殼中,苟且存在於徒然、失效的世界。向神祈求。

Light: God - exists in the chant of prayer? Nurtures hope and faith in praise?
光:神,存在於祈求的頌唱中?頌讚中,孕育着希望與信念?

Shadow: Mankind - the image in the mirror and the shadow outside the mirror. Looking for scattered souls with willpower in nihility. Praying to God?
影:人,鏡影中、鏡影外。虛無中尋覓帶著意志的零散靈魂。向神祈求?

Mirror: God - the image in the mirror and the shadow outside the mirror. In the infinite void, who is God? Who is the human being? God is emptied by presumptuous people.
鏡:神,鏡影中、鏡影外。無盡空處,誰是神?誰是人?神被狂妄的人淘空著。

Split: Mankind - Mirror broken; fantasy disillusioned.
破:人,鏡破後,幻想破滅。

Dark: God - whom shall God pray to? How to rescue oneself?
暗:神,向誰祈求?怎樣自救?

Light: Mankind - unloose the mirror, unleash the body, put down the prayer, let’s rip off our “Ego” shell, gaze into the darkness and embrace the spiritual liberation.
光:人,放開鏡,放開軀殼,放下祈求,讓自主剝開自我的軀殼,直面黑暗,擁抱精神上的自由。

Grad LEUNG 梁偉傑 (Hong Kong SAR)

The pioneer of Butoh Butoh Fest, the first international Butoh event in Hong Kong, which has been held for four editions since 2012. He successfully invited Yukio Waguri, the chief disciple of Butoh founder Tatsumi Hijikata, to participate in the Butoh Fest several times. Grad has also extensively invited Butoh practitioners from all over the world including Japan, Malaysia, Sweden, Brazil and other places to come to Hong Kong for performances and cultural exchanges.

Starting from his first encounter with Playback Theatre in 1996, Grad has been vigorously promoting its development through numerous workshops and performances. From 2012 onwards, he has unceasingly been reforming its performance methodology. Grad first renamed such theatre approach as “形.聲.影.睇” and took it to the 6th Taipei Fringe Festival, later on denominated it as “Moment Theatre” which has been well-acclaimed. With the strong support of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, Grad has been invited to hold workshops and performances in Taipei, Taichung, Tainan, Guangzhou, Xi'an, Beijing, Shanghai, Changsha, Malaysia etc. His participation in “My Luxurious 50 Sqft Life”(2015) was nominated for the Outstanding Actor at the 7th Hong Kong Theatre Libre.

香港首位籌辦國際性的「香港舞踏節 Butoh Butoh Fest」首屆2012年至今舉辦共四屆。曾成功邀請舞踏創始人物土方巽 (Tatsumi Hijikata)之首席弟子和栗由紀夫 (Yukio Waguri) 多次到港參與舞踏節。亦廣邀日本、馬來西亞、瑞典、巴西等地舞踏藝術家來港演出交流。

自1996年接觸一人一故事劇場(下稱一劇場),自始一直大力推動一劇場發展,帶領工作坊及演出無數。於2012起不斷改良一劇場演出方法。命名為「形.聲.影.睇」曾參加第六屆臺北藝穗節,後定名為「時刻劇場」,廣受讚譽。多次獲香港藝術發展局資助,並曾受邀到臺灣、廣州、西安、北京、上海、長沙、馬來西亞等地舉行工作坊及演出。參演劇作「我的50呎豪華生活」(2015)榮獲提名第七屆小劇場獎·最優秀男演員。此劇更獲2015年第八屆台北藝穗節「永真藝穗獎」。

Annesha BISWAS Agni (Bangladesh)

Annesha BISWAS Agni 是滿有熱誠的舞者,師承 Shibli Mohammad 接受 Kathak 舞蹈訓練。Annesha 從小研習舞蹈;孟加拉民俗舞、Raibenshe 與 Chou (印度民間武術的舞蹈形式)、當代舞、舞踏和創意舞蹈的培訓。敢於接受挑戰,喜歡學習新事物,並且通過實驗自身風格和舞蹈的基本形式,編創出其獨特而嶄新的舞蹈。「你所投入練習的時間和精力永遠不會在舞台上背叛你」。所以,Annesha 確信不論身形和年齡,希望尋求以舞蹈形式進行自我探索的人,她都樂意向他們分享舞蹈。經年的舞蹈藝術體驗給予她巨大的啟發,沉浸在舞蹈的世界讓她樂在其中。對她而言,舞蹈社區就像大氣層,舞蹈就是氧氣。

Annesha Biswas Agni is a zealous dancer who mainly trained in Kathak dance under Guru Shibli Mohammad. She has been dancing ever since she was a child. She has taken training in Bangladeshi folk, Raibenshe, Chou, Contemporary, Butoh, and Creative dance forms at different times for different periods. She is always up for a challenge and loves to learn new things. She has trained herself to choreograph and create new movements by self-experimenting her style and base forms. Her work ethic is simple: "the time and effort you put into your practice would never betray you on stage". She currently teaches dance to those who seek to explore themselves in the form of dance regardless of body type and age. She finds great value in her art and is doing everything possible to immerse herself with dance even more. Dance is oxygen, and the dance community is like the atmosphere to her.

অন্বেষা বিশ্বাস অগ্নি একজন উদ্যোগী নৃত্যশিল্পী যিনি মূলত গুরু শিবলী মোহাম্মদের অধীনে কথ্থক নৃত্যের প্রশিক্ষণ নেন। তিনি অনেক ছোটবেলা থেকেই নাচছেন। তিনি বিভিন্ন সময়ে বিভিন্ন পরিসরে বাংলাদেশী লোকনৃত্য, রাইবেশে, ছৌ, সমসাময়িক, বুটোহ্ এবং সৃজনশীল নৃত্যের প্রশিক্ষণও নিয়েছেন। তিনি সর্বদা সব চ্যালেঞ্জের জন্য প্রস্তুত থাকেন এবং নতুন জিনিস শিখতে ভালবাসেন। তিনি নিজের স্টাইল এবং বেস ফর্মগুলির পরীক্ষা-নিরীক্ষা করে কোরিওগ্রাফ এবং নতুন মুদ্রা তৈরিতে নিজেকে প্রশিক্ষণ দিয়েছেন। তার কাজের নৈতিকতা সহজ: "আপনি আপনার অনুশীলনে যে সময় এবং প্রচেষ্টা দিয়েছিলেন তা কখনই আপনাকে মঞ্চে ঠকাবে না"। তিনি বর্তমানে যারা তাদের দেহের ধরণ এবং বয়স নির্বিশেষে নাচের আকারে জীবনকে অন্বেষণ করতে চান তাদের নাচ শেখান। তিনি তার শিল্পের মধ্যে মূল্য খুঁজে পান। আরও বেশি নাচের মাঝে নিজেকে নিমজ্জিত করার জন্য সমস্ত কিছু করে যাচ্ছেন তিনি। নাচ হল তার জন্য অক্সিজেন এবং নৃত্য সম্প্রদায়টি তার কাছে পৃথিবীর মতো।

Multimedia Designer 多媒體設計

Chao CHAN 陳炒 (Hong Kong SAR)

Graduated from Hong Kong Polytechnic University majoring in Visual Communication Design. Her expertise lies in video production, interactive installation and stage production. Recent projects include the videos and interactive exhibits for“Between the Lines - The Legends of Hong Kong Printing” exhibition in 2020, interactive installation in“Collage Again ”exhibition in 2018, and the concept & multimedia design for Vanke Fuzhou Emerald Park Experience Room in 2017. Extensive experience in theater lighting and video design, including “Freehand Brushwork”(2020), "Passerby" (2020), "Between Dots and Lines" (Let’s Be Together Arts Festival X Hong Kong 2018) etc.

畢業於香港理工大學視覺傳達設計系,專項錄像製作、互動裝置和舞台製作。近年參與的項目包括2020年《字裡圖間──香港印藝傳奇》展覽錄像及互動展品、2018年《拼貼再來》展覽互動裝置,以及2017年福州飛鳳山翡翠里多媒體展示廳的概念和媒體設計。擁有豐富的劇場燈光和錄像設計經驗,作品包括《隨意小品》(2020)、《過客》(2020) 、《點線之間》(第一屆不貧窮藝術節 X 香港 2018) 等。

Christy TSE Hei-long (Hong Kong SAR) / Videographer

TSE Hei-long Christy, 26-year-old fencing and photography lover, was graduated from Film and TV school of Hong Kong Academic of Performing Art (HKAPA), majoring in Directing. Christy has worked for different short films, commercials and documentaries.

In 2015, her first directed work “Fencing”, a short film about two young men who compete in fencing, was shortlisted in the 10th Fresh Wave Short Film Festival. “Fencing” was also screened in the 38th Taiwan Golden Harvest Film Festival.

Her graduate project “Fencing Distance”, a short film that portrays two young girls growing up together in fencing competitions as friends as well as enemies, was shortlisted in the 5th International Film Festival & Awards Macao.

Since 2020, she has been directing her first documentary “The Actors”, which talks about the hard life of being actors in Hong Kong.

謝熹朗,畢業於香港演藝學院電影電視學院導演系主修,以導演、監製、攝影等身分參與不少電影、劇集、紀錄片及短片製作。

2020年執導紀錄片《演員之路》,講述香港新生代演員的辛酸。2019年執導短片《一步之間》,入圍第五屆澳門國際影展。2015年首部導演作品《攻防》入圍第十屆鮮浪潮國際短片節,同年獲台灣金穗獎邀請作特別放映。

Fanny CHAN Chi-fan (Hong Kong SAR) / Producer

Graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University majoring in Cinema & Television, Fanny is zealous in writing, theatre and dance. Her art reviews have been published at various art and cultural platforms. Being a full-time art administrator for almost 10 years, she was involved in commissioned visual art projects of corporate clients, and she is now the project manager at the Hong Kong Dance Federation. She was responsible for the research and project coordination of “3 Decades of Dance” - a lecture series presented by LCSD, curated by Dr. LO Wai-luk in 2019. As a Butoh enthusiast, she focuses on the self-research of its spirituality and philosophy. Passionate about LGBT+ equality: she participated in the organising committee of the 1st “HK Queer Literary and Cultural Festival” held by “Nu Tong Xue She”, a LGBT+ advocacy group.

陳志芬畢業於香港浸會大學電影電視專業;熱愛寫作、劇場和舞蹈,其藝評可見於多個藝文平台。有近10年全職藝術行政的工作經驗,以往曾參與企業客戶的委托視覺藝術項目,目前在香港舞蹈總會擔任項目經理。於康文署主辦、盧偉力博士策展的2019講座系列「舞蹈三十年」負責研究和項目統籌之工作。舞踏愛好者,專注於舞踏靈性和哲學方面的自我研究。熱衷性權平等:曾參與倡議組織女同學社第一屆《香港同讀文化節》的籌辦工作。

Woody CHO Wut-ming (Hong Kong SAR) / Video Director

CHO Wut-ming Woody, graduated from the Communication School of Hong Kong Baptist University, majoring in Cinema and Television. Woody is a film lover who has worked in the film and media industry for over ten years. Her diverse works span across movies, documentaries, drama series and short films, including “The Election”(2014), “The Trading Floor”(2018), “The Grand Grandmaster”(2020) and etc.

曹活明,2010 年畢業於香港浸會大學傳理學院主修電影電視。畢業超過十年,仍然熱愛影視創作,參與不少電影、劇集、紀錄片及短片製作。曾參與製作的作品包括:《選戰》(2014)、《東方華爾街》(2018)、《乜代宗師》(2020) 等等。

Fabliha ZAHIN (Bangladesh) / Video Editor

Fabliha ZAHIN had initially picked up editing as just another hobby, but it quickly became a constant job of hers. Starting from being an editor for a high school’s club to producing music video-like videos to be uploaded on YouTube, Fabliha has evolved to be able to handle heavily edited videos. She has developed her skill over a span of 7 years from when she first started working with production. She believes that with practice one can get to conquer the world even if they started from nothing. Dedication is the key to success - this is what Fabliha firmly believes in, for that philosophy has got her to what she has come to be.

Sami Un Bashir (Bangladesh) / Videographer

Sami Un Bashir is a photographer, re-toucher and cinematographer based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has been doing photography for 7 years and cinematography for 2 years. Mainly he shoots portraits, high end commercial photos and videos. He is a self-taught content creator. He has worked with many indie brands in this country some are – Amaris footwear, Syan clothing, Nutrition Depot Bangladesh and much more. He has won the 2nd prize in 5th DRMC National Language Festival in the senior photography division. He loves to tackle challenging situations and always comes up with best results with his creativity and experience. According to him, working with new people is the best part of his job.

সামি উন বাশির একজন ফটোগ্রাফার, রিটাচার,সিনেমাটোগ্রাফার,। তিনি ঢাকা, বাংলাদেশে অবস্থিত।তিনি 7 বছর ধরে ফটোগ্রাফি এবং 2 বছর ধরে সিনেমাটোগ্রাফি করছেন। প্রধানত তিনি পোট্রের্ট, উচ্চতর বাণিজ্যিক ছবি তুলেন এবং ভিডিওগুলি বানান। তিনি সশিক্ষিত । তিনি এ দেশে অনেক ইন্ডি ব্র্যান্ডের সাথে কাজ করেছেন, কিছু হল - আমারিস ফুটওয়্যার, সায়ান ক্লোথিং, নিউট্রিশন ডিপো বাংলাদেশ এবং আরও অনেক কিছু। তিনি ফটোগ্রাফি সিনিয়র বিভাগে 5 তম ডিআরএমসি জাতীয় ভাষা উৎসবে দ্বিতীয় পুরস্কার জিতেছেন। তিনি চ্যালেঞ্জিং পরিস্থিতি মোকাবেলা করতে ভালবাসেন এবং সর্বদা তার সৃজনশীলতা এবং অভিজ্ঞতার সাথে সেরা ফলাফল নিয়ে আসে। তাঁর মতে, নতুন মানুষের সাথে কাজ করা তাঁর কাজের সেরা অংশ।

Along the Edge Arts Festival 2021 | Boundless

Along the Edge Arts Festival is about telling stories of people and things outside of mainstream narratives.

The global pandemic has changed the sensory dimension of social experience. In the spirit of adventure and resilience, the 2021 edition of the festival breaks through boundaries of diversity and explores new possibilities and perspectives to build global connections through an online showcase of various forms of cultural and creative expressions. Artists from Hong Kong, Mainland China, Singapore, Malaysia, France, Nepal, India, Uganda, Egypt, Germany, Philippines, Indonesia, Los Angeles, Ireland, Iceland and Bangladesh will present diversified programmes. It includes visual arts, dance, drama, music, documentary screening, workshops and forum. The series of activities aims to provoke the public to interpret and define the inner meaning of 'boundless'.

靠邊站藝術節2021|無界之界 2021.5.12-2021.5.16

靠邊站藝術節講述的是主流敘事之外的人事物。

全球疫情改變了社會經歷的感官維度。秉承冒險和韌性的精神,2021年靠邊站藝術節將以「無界之界」為題突破多重的界限,聯合來自中國大陸、香港、新加坡、馬來西亞、法國、尼泊爾、印度、烏干達、埃及、德國、菲律賓、印尼、洛杉磯、愛爾蘭、冰島、孟加拉等多地的藝術工作者及團體,展示多種形式的文化和創造表達,探索了建立全球聯繫的新可能性和新觀點。

我們將以視覺藝術展覽、舞蹈、戲劇、音樂、紀錄片、論壇、工作坊等方式,啟動個體新的視聽感官體驗,以春風化雨之柔和,撼動和消解威權與慣習之暴力;突破陳規,重構逾越語言的溝通對話,呼喚共情,重新與消失的附近聯結,拓寬去中心化的「無界」可能。
